Early Life

Dan Pena was born and raised in East Los Angeles, California. His father, Manuel, was a Lieutenant Commander in the second world war and later became a CIA agent. Manuel made a name for himself after the murder of Robert F Kennedy wherein he was one of the lead investigators. Manuel was a believer in tough love. During Dan’s childhood, Los Angeles became a crime hotspot. Dan got caught up in this and had to go to jail for alcoholism while he was still in high school.

In 1966, he joined the US Army for 3 years at the age of 20. He worked as an Army officer for three years. In 1969, he left the U. S. Army. In 1971, he continued his study and graduated from San Fernando Valley State College School of Business Administration and Economics with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Immediately after completing his Bachelor’s degree, he ventured into real estate.
